Since Flash's "embedding" is unfortunately less than robust this did not work in this scenario. Even various techniques that usually solve an embedding problem with some fonts i.e. adding a text field in the mc but off stage containing some characters to get the font outlines embedded properly etc. did nothing to resolve this issue.
